To begin the process of making Gymnema Extract-75%, the mature leaves of Gymnema sylvestre are harvested. After giving the leaves a thorough cleaning, they are dried and ground into a fine powder. Gymnemic acids and other bioactive components are released from this powder through solvent extraction. Gymnema extract is concentrated to a 75% concentration in the resulting solution, and potency and purity are ensured through quality control tests. Standardization is done for constant concentrations and is optional. A concentrated, standardized Gymnema extract that can be applied in various ways is what's left over after filtering.

Applications

One plant with strong anti-diabetic effects is thought to be Gymnema sylvestre. Gymnema tea is another way this plant is used to reduce obesity. The plant's active ingredient is a class of acids known as gymnemic acids.

Native to India, Gymnema sylvestre is a medicinal plant that grows wild in tropical forests in India’s west, central, and southern regions as well as in tropical regions of Africa, Australia, and China. The plant is widely used in Indian traditional medical systems, including Siddha, Unani, and Ayurveda, and is included in the Indian Pharmaceutical Codex.
