Commonly referred to as Moroccan Chamomile it is a Mediterranean species of flowering plant, often considered a weed. Growing best in moist and rich soil, it does not need extreme amounts of water as it can retain water because of its thicker cuticle, allowing it to store water for longer durations. An annual durable plant it can tolerate both warm/cool and hot environments making Morocco a perfect growing ground.
Derived from distilling the leaf and flowers it is chemically and aromatically different from Roman or German Chamomile. It has a slightly camphoraceous, fresh aroma and is known for it’s calming properties.Â
